A view across the Thames in the Vitners Hall building in the heart of the City of London
In fact three semi-circular topped panels were painted with three different views of the Thames, each representing a different phase in history and point in time.
The left panel showed a view circa 1590, the centre 1850 and the right 1996.
The style of the window frame imitates the style of the real windows on the opposite wall.
